Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda are dead. Now two seasoned FBI profilers arrive in the terrified community to assist the veteran Detective Hoffman in sifting through Jigsaw's latest grizzly remains and piecing together the puzzle. However, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of demented traps and save an old friend or face the deadly consequences.More of the same from the first 3 movies in this series... plots twists, rusty traps, brutality and gore. This one spends a lot of time filling in the pieces of the puzzles in the first 3. There are a lot of flashback story lines that really make it get a bit convoluted at times, and I pity the fool who sees this without watching the others.
With Jigsaw being dead, he's had to now plan out about 10 moves in advance to get his victims to go through the tests, and that gets a bit ridiculous to imagine even suspending belief for the sake of the movie. It all just works too perfect at times. And just how many freakin little tape players did the guy buy? He get some sort of bulk discount on them along with batteries and tapes?
Personally, I love this series, and it was fun watching this one as it did help shine some light on the first 3. But... I will say they're getting pretty thin with the material. I know 2 more at least are on the way, and that may be 2 too many. We'll see I guess.
7/10
