But anyway, I got a call from a woman about 3:00 PM that her and her kids had found him nearly 2 miles from my house in a ditch scared out of his mind about 20 yards from a major 4-lane interstate. I'd last seen him at home yesterday morning when I left for work just before 7 AM, so he must have been running around a while. This woman not only took the time to stop, but had her son get down there and coax him out of the muddy junk, put him in her SUV, got him home and fed him and toweled him off, then called me (always put your phone number on your dog's collar people, always).
When I got over there he was chillin' in the living room floor on a big fluffy towel with the little boy and girl both hugging on him, so all was good. It could have ended really bad, but it's always refreshing to find people that take the time do help out people or animals that most people just look at as not their concern. I always feel it's sort of a sense of "pay it forward" as I've done the same several times in my neighborhood.
So take my quote for the day, and pass it on:
“I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” ~~ Stephan Grellet
