Info Post
From the animated TV series Futurama, Planet Express sees a hostile takeover and Bender falls into the hands of criminals who use him to fulfill their schemes by traveling back in time and stealing expensive artifacts.

I should preface my review by saying I'm a huge fan of the TV show Futurama, so a big part of what I enjoyed about the first (of 4) straight-to-DVD movies was just seeing all the regular characters again in new situations, since I've watched all the old episodes over and over for years now. There are also a lot of in-jokes, some very subtle, that fans of the TV show will appreciate I'm sure as well as old characters that had smaller parts... from Al Gore's head, to Hypnotoad to Zap.

If you're not a fan of the series, I doubt very much you'll like this movie, as I don't think it probably stands alone very well personally. The story isn't anything too special and they throw some musical bits that I thought missed the mark pretty much. There are some laughs, but more of the humor is probably aimed at fans. I never really thought anything was laugh out loud funny though, and some of the humor attempts fall flat.

It's entertaining though, not spectacular, and it's sure great to have the whole Planet Express crew back in action again. If I were just rating this as a normal movie, it'd be a 6/10. As a huge fan though, I'm giving this reunion:

7/10
