Also made it out to Wild River Country water park yesterday and got some sun and fun. Here's a weekend tip though, go before 3:00 pm because when the price drops then that place gets really crowded. Long lines and going through the wave pool was like cramming sardines in a can. Good times though.
Made it out to see the Bottle Rockets first dozen or so songs last night at Sticky Fingerz. Unfortunately, I only knew about 2 of the the songs as I'm sure they were saving all their "hits" for later in the set and we got bored and went to the Rev Room.
Jani Lane (former Warrant lead singer) was walking around the bar when we got there, I think just going to the restroom actually, but needed a security guard although the total attendance was probably about 100 people. I noticed on the way in they suddenly had a ticket "special" going... former metal superstar for only $5! Didn't help though, very small crowd.Fun show though. Jani looked better than the last time I saw him several years ago, had lost quite a bit of weight, and his voice sounded pretty good. He had a good band in tow as well. The guitar player (Dario Lorino) was 17-years-old according to Jani, and the kid could really play. Had a Randy Rhoads look about him... sort of old school androgynous. Mike "the Sack" Fasano on drums and I'm not sure who the keyboard or bassist were. They tore through classic like Cherry Pie, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Heaven, I Saw Red, 32 Pennies and Machine Gun with very little chatting in between. The kid on guitar could handle all the leads and solos with no sweat and was quite showy and fun to watch. Oddly, they didn't do an encore and closed with Cheap Trick's Surrender to end the set, bringing the total number of Guitar Hero II songs on the night to 2 (Cherry Pie is also on there).

I'll say this, it was a small crowd, but pretty vocal and appreciative and Jani and Co. played like there were 1,000 people there instead of a 100... never complaining or making excuses. Good show.
Didn't stay around for any pics or chit-chat... I was about 8 or 9 Shiner Bocks in and it was getting well past midnight, when I usually turn into a pumpkin.
