Info Post

With their warning about Lord Voldemort's return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts.

Although I didn't read this, the 5th book and movie, I've heard it was the biggest book yet the shortest movie. So I'm sure a lot was left out. I can't speak for that, I'll just judge the movie on it's own, and on it's own I think its' a very entertaining movie.

It's obviously quite a bit like the others... lots of intricate plot, plenty of characters and lots of neat special effects. This one didn't seem to have a "centerpiece" special effect scene like the other films, i.e. a big quidditch game or a battle with a dragon... but it had a lot of neat things just the same. It's not as flashy really as some of the others but seems to focus more on character development and storyline.

The kids have gotten older of course, and I think the films just keep getting darker as they mature. This one has a lot of evil and darkness and yes another character dies, just like in the last one.

I will say that this series has, to me at least, really started to sort of mirror the Star Wars saga. Young Harry/Luke vs the evil Voldemort/Vader as the "dark side" each tries to claim him. Not a bad sage to mimic I guess.

Anyway, Harry is getting all grown up (he gets some lip service in this one) and so have the stories a bit. I think it's right on par with the other films. Recommended.
