Two straight, single Brooklyn firefighters (Adam Sandler and Kevin James) pretend to be a gay couple in order to receive domestic partner benefits.
Not really what I expected I guess. I wanted just all out buddy comedy stuff but instead the movie really tried to deliver a message about homosexuals. It was making fun of them on one hand, with stereotypes galore and homophobic jokes, while preaching with the other hand about doing exactly what the movie itself was doing, not showing tolerence. Odd.
Was it funny though? Yeah, with Kevin James (one of my favorites) and Adam Sandler you knew you'd have a lot of good ad-libs and funny stuff, it's just not hilarious or anything. I expected stupid, and there are lots of those stupid locker room type humor scenes like you know are coming from Adam Sandlers movies, but they're mostly funny. Not side-splitting, but comical.
Jessica Biel is gorgeous throughout and a highlight in her role as a very likeable lawyer (as if there were such a thing).
Not a bad comedy, but not really that memorable. It's no classic.
6/10
