Info Post

A young woman with a long-term phobia of the boogeyman voluntarily checks herself into a mental health facility with the hope of conquering her overwhelming fears. She discovers that some things don't go away so easily and the boogeyman begins to prey on the fears of those around her.

If you saw the first Boogeyman movie and think the sequel is going to be like that one, think again. The first one was a supernatural horror film, this one is just a straight-up slasher flick. It has a connection to the first movie, but it's just slight.

Still though, it's actually a decent little horror film if slasher flicks are your thing. Each character has a phobia of sorts and the bad guy disposes of them in gruesome fashion with some occasional creativity and decent gory effects. It's a bit of a cross between the Saw films (Tobin Bell is actually in it) and a Friday The 13th sequel I guess. The characters all behave is particularly stupid ways, but that's in line with most slasher films. The production and acting really aren't bad at all, although nobody stands out.

It's cliched and a bit silly but (surprisingly for a straight-to-DVD sequel of a bad movie) it's actually sort of fun.

5/10
